CDN Upgrade

Faster, smoother streaming with HTTP/3 (QUIC) on Tulix CDN.

Tulix Systems is adding HTTP/3/QUIC to one of our general-purpose CDNs to improve live streaming and VOD delivery—especially where networks are unpredictable. The result: quicker startup, fewer stalls, and a more consistent viewing experience across devices.

What this means for you: better delivery under real-world conditions—mobile networks, Wi‑Fi congestion, and long-haul paths—without changing your content strategy.
Key benefits

More consistent delivery at scale

HTTP/3 runs over QUIC (UDP) and is designed to reduce transport friction. For streaming, that translates into a viewer experience that holds up better under network variability.

  • Faster start by reducing connection setup overhead
  • Fewer interruptions when networks are congested or lossy
  • Better mobile performance for users moving between networks
  • Modern security with built-in encryption expectations
Business outcomes

Protect revenue and retention

Every stall, delay, or buffering event costs engagement. QUIC helps reduce the common pain points that drive churn and lower completion rates.

  • Higher watch time through smoother playback
  • Better conversion with improved first impressions (startup experience)
  • Lower support burden from fewer network-related complaints
  • Competitive edge with next-gen delivery on Tulix CDN
How it works

QUIC-enabled edge delivery

Tulix adds HTTP/3/QUIC support at the edge while maintaining compatibility with existing client environments. Delivery can be negotiated per request, letting you modernize without a disruptive cutover.

  • HTTP/3 available where supported; fallback paths remain available
  • Optimized edge routing for both live and VOD delivery
  • Designed for real-world network conditions and large audiences
Where it helps most

Live + VOD across challenging networks

QUIC is particularly valuable when the last mile is unstable—mobile, congested Wi‑Fi, or long-distance paths.

  • Mobile networks with frequent transitions
  • Congested Wi‑Fi in venues and shared buildings
  • Global delivery where path quality varies
  • High-demand live events where consistency matters
What changes for you

A modern transport upgrade — without re-architecting your business

We can enable HTTP/3/QUIC delivery on a Tulix CDN profile and guide rollout by geography, content type (live vs VOD), device class, or traffic segment.

Rollout option What you get
Targeted pilot Enable QUIC for a defined region or audience segment to validate impact and compatibility.
Live-first deployment Prioritize live streaming paths where network resilience can deliver the biggest viewer impact.
VOD-first deployment Improve startup and playback consistency for on-demand libraries and long-form content.
Phased expansion Scale to additional regions and traffic as results confirm measurable improvement.
Do we need to change our player or workflows?

In most cases, no major workflow change is required. HTTP/3 is negotiated by clients that support it, and compatible fallbacks remain available for environments that don’t.

How do we measure success?

We recommend tracking startup time, rebuffering ratio, error rates, and completion/watch time— comparing pilot traffic versus baseline delivery.

Is this only for live streaming?

No—HTTP/3/QUIC can benefit both live and VOD. Live often sees strong gains under network variability; VOD can benefit from smoother starts and steady delivery.

Is it secure?

QUIC is designed with modern encryption expectations, supporting secure connections as a first-class delivery approach.
